mold level measuring system

Qualtec GmbH has developed the new Qualicoil electromagnetic mold level measuring system which shows the “true” liquid metal level independent of any powder layer or slack layer inside the mold. Qualicoil has been successfully installed at Verona Steel in Italy since 2008 where it operates in fully automatic mode, including auto startup.The new Qualicoil mold level measuring system measures the true liquid steel level inside the mold and is not affected by any powder or slag layer. The Qualicoil system is easy to install, automatic startup has been performed since the first trial at Verona Steel. The Qualicoil system needs no mechanical mold modification and the suspended arm can be mounted at the most convenient position and eventually upgraded with a semi robotic pneumatic arm.

Visualization Software Features

Qualicast visualization software is a complete real-time analysis tool to monitor your Qualicoil with the continuous casting process. This software allows you to monitor and access process parameters to fine tune your system. The package also stores historical data and trends so that previous casts can be viewed. This software can be installed and viewed remotely via a company intranet or even over the internet (TCP/IP Ethernet).
